Magnolia Table
First of all, if you don’t own this cookbook, you should probably put this on hold & go buy it. Second, if you do have it, please stop judging us for just now buying it. Third, Jo Jo, our sincerest apologies for taking so long to try your recipes.
& yes, these recipes are perfect the way they are… however, we always try to put a twist on things with additions/ omissions to make it more unique to us.
Ingredients
1 stick butter – melted
1 cup light brown sugar
2 eggs
1.5 tsp vanilla extract
5 bananas – mashed
1 3/4 cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
.5 tsp salt
1 tbsp cinnamon
2 tbsp sugar
1/2 cup chocolate chips
Steps
1. Preheat oven to 350*F & spray 8 X 8 pan with Pam.
2. Beat together the melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, & vanilla. Mix in bananas.
3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, & cinnamon.
4. Combine dry ingredients to the wet ingredients & add in chocolate chips.
5. Pour in the batter, sprinkle the sugar on top, & bake for 40-45 minutes.
We took Jo’s advice & added some butter on top after heating it up. #delicious
I’ve been debating about getting this cookbook, and always love a good recommendation. Amazon here I come!
Omgsh we love it!! Definitely a great buy!
Breads are my downfall! I love banana bread, I will have to go home and make some now!
It is definitely addicting!
Delicious Banana Bread, one of our favorites! It’s awesome ’cause you can justify eating it any time of day, including breakfast, right? I love how you say – “we always try to put a twist on things with additions/ omissions to make it more unique to us” because we do the same thing. Every recipe can be tweaked. in my opinion. I will give this recipe a try and will substitute some of the brown sugar with 100% Pure Maple Syrup. Maple Syrup is an all-natural product and makes a nice substitution with some recipes. Have you ever tried?
I have never heard of that! Definitely interested in trying that… thank you!!
