ingredients
4 mint leaves
2 lime wedges
2 blood orange slices
2 tablespoons simple syrup
1 1/2 oz rum or more… or why even measure this at all?
Add grapefruit (or any flavor) La Croix
Achieving Greatness
Again, we should all keep in mind that he is the expert, not her.
APPARENTLY, in order to achieve this perfection, one must “muddle together” (sounds like a dirty dance if you ask her) the leaves, wedges, slices, & the simple syrup. if you look for a bottle of simple syrup in the pantry at our house, you may realize after searching for a solid 7.5 minutes that you do NOT in fact have simple syrup. awesome. so we make it?
equal parts sugar & water in a pot on the stove, bring to simmer, let cool. WHO KNEW?
okay great. Now then, once the “muddlin'” is complete, then you can simply add in the rum – seriously, however much you want; this is a judge free zone. always.
Place slices & wedges in glass then add any flavor of La Croix (or water because that’s probably better).
Calm Down
For all you La Croix lovers out there… do not take offense. I just prefer water… or soda… or fruit… or alcohol…
word, Daniel Tran. word.
Well this sounds delicious!! Thanks for sharing this recipe. Now off to try to make it, simple syrup included!
I love a good mojito!! I actually just tried a blood orange for the first time this morning…added it to the fruits and veggies that I juice. I would’ve never through of making a mojito, though…will definitely try it!
Awesome pictures! And the drink sounds good too! Any tips on how you took such good pictures?
